Based on its benefits, you may want Invisalign for your smile. That’s a wise move – the treatment would straighten your grin quickly and easily. Still, perhaps you’re not sure when to begin the Invisalign process. The start time for aligner work isn’t always clearcut and obvious. Fortunately, there are good reasons to start Invisalign this summer. Your Temple dentist can even tell you a few of them. To that end, here’s a primer on why to start your Invisalign journey in the summer months.

Easier Treatment Adjustment

Yes, Invisalign aligners are smoother and more comfortable than metal braces. Even so, they do put pressure on your teeth as part of treatment. That means the trays will cause at least a little discomfort.

Fortunately, summer makes Invisalign adjustment easier. It lets you work through aligner pain without heavy work or school demands. As a result, the process is made less stressful than it’d be otherwise.

No “Metal Mouth” Photos

For better or worse, summer is a time of photos. People spend it taking pictures for their vacations, parties, family get-togethers, and more. That being the case, metal braces don’t suit the season well. They give you a “metal mouth” that distracts from the photographed moment.

Of course, Invisalign handily avoids this issue. Its aligners are made of clear and subtle plastic that’s hardly noticeable. As such, your treatment won’t draw any unwanted attention. Your peers will continue to see a clear and white smile.

Hassle-Free Summer Snacks

Summer foods are tricky to eat when wearing braces. Whether you’re working with hotdogs or hamburgers, the chewed bits can get stuck in your brackets and wires. That problem can lead to more challenging teeth cleaning afterward.

In contrast, Invisalign aligners don’t interfere with meals. You’re free to remove them when you consume foods or drinks. That way, you won’t need to pick food from the trays. You just need to rinse and brush them before putting them back in your mouth.

A Straight Smile by Next Summer

In general, Invisalign takes a year to complete. Starting this summer will thus lead to a straight smile by the next one. At that point, you’ll enjoy fun in the sun while showing off a gorgeous grin.

Metal braces don’t usually have a one-year turnaround. In fact, they often take two or three years to work well. Consequently, you’ll need to put up with their presence on your teeth longer.

Ultimately, there are good reasons to start Invisalign this summer. With that said, visit your local dental provider for treatment in the coming days.
