Summer has arrived again, but not all students are out on vacation. Instead, some are ready for their school graduations! These scholars will get their diplomas before starting fun in the sun. If your child is one of them, though, gift them cosmetic dentistry before the big ceremony. This field will give your graduate a winning smile for the occasion. As for which of its options to consider, your Temple dentist has some ideas. Here are four ideal cosmetic dental treatments for new graduates.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening can give students the shiny teeth they’ve always wanted. In fact, both its in-office and at-home versions brighten chompers by several shades at a time.

In-office whitening only requires a one-hour dental visit. At that session, the dentist will apply bleaching gel onto your child’s teeth. When combined with a special no-heat light, this material makes enamel six to eight shades whiter.

If you opt for at-home whitening, have your student start it at least two weeks before graduation. They’ll need to wear bleaching trays that long before results appear.

Dental Bonding

Perhaps your child has more than just tooth discoloration. If so, they may want to try a dental bonding treatment.

In dental bonding, tooth-colored resin is applied to a smile’s flaws. (These can range from minor stains and cracks to small chips.) Doing so hides the problem from view and helps a tooth blend seamlessly with its surroundings. Better yet, the treatment effects can last several years with proper care.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are ideal for a student with a wide range of dental flaws. Their versatility allows them to transform tooth color, shape, and position.

In essence, veneers are shells that dentists place on the fronts of teeth. Their role is to hide various tooth issues – stains, chips, cracks, etc. Furthermore, their porcelain material ensures that treated teeth look beautiful and match your other chompers.

Smile Makeovers

To truly play it safe, you could always give your graduate a smile makeover. This option addresses many cosmetic issues at once.

You see, a smile makeover isn’t its own service per se. It’s actually a combination of two or more cosmetic procedures into one treatment. As such, it could include teeth whitening, dental bonding, porcelain veneers, or more. Do note, however, that this feature can make a makeover pricey.

There are many perks to cosmetic dental treatments for new graduates. So, gift your student one (or more) of the above choices!
