Your First Visit
We’ll reserve one and a half hours for your initial hygiene visit and exam. Upon your arrival, a member of our front-office staff will review your completed new patient paperwork and discuss the reasons for your visit. Then we’ll escort you to a treatment room where one of our skilled hygienists will perform a complete set of digital X-rays, as well as photos of the inside of your mouth, taken with an intraoral camera, which will provide a comprehensive view of teeth and supporting structures.
Following your hygiene visit, you’ll meet Dr. Fossum. He’ll discuss your medical history, current concerns, and dental goals, then conduct a thorough exam. Dr. Fossum will assess the integrity of existing dental work, inspect each tooth for decay, review bite alignment, and review your periodontal (gum) health. He’ll use a ViziLite to screen for oral cancer.
Treatment Planning
Dr. Fossum will use your X-rays and intraoral photos to explain his findings and partner with you to plan treatment. He may display short CAESY Patient Education videos on your chairside monitor to provide additional details about suggested therapies.
Payment Methods Accepted
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Third party financing, often with low or no interest for qualified applicants, is available through CareCredit. Please see the website for details. We also offer 90-day in-office financing. Call for more information.
Insurance Information
Dr. Fossum participates in a variety of insurance plans, including MetLife, Cigna, Delta Dental Premier, United Concordia, and GEHA. We electronically file all claims and work with insurance companies to maximize patient benefits.
